Today, on the wonderful day of Saturday, on the day of Christian holiday of Palm Sunday celebration, magnificent children with special needs from different local special boarding schools of Odessa and students of Odessa National University of Law Academy, together with their president Sergiy Kivalov, and representatives of our organization of handicapped “Union of Human Rights of disabled people”, arranged an unforgettable flashmob called “We are near” for children. All together entertained with the clown-animator on students’ playground near the seaside, played interesting, mobile games, listened to the greetings from the Chairman of the Ukrainian public organization of handicapped “Advocacy Association of Disabled” Olexander Vozniuk, and president of Odessa National University of Law Academy Sergiy Kivalov, got delicacies, and together with the students planted dozens of trees on the slopes in the park near the seaside in Odessa.
Children liked such an event very much, they liked entertainment with youth and plant the trees near the seaside in Odessa. One of the participants – Alisa, student of the boarding school for children with depraved vision admitted, that planting trees in the park near the seaside meant leaving the part of herself with this tree for future. She will participate in similar events.
Despite the cloudy, spring weather near the seaside, no one of children was frozen. After the flashmob, children were given hot tea with paska on the open air near the seaside. They returned to their schools with the hope to repeat such a leisure time.
Involving the youth of Odessa to the common spending of time, cooperation concerning children with special needs, paying attention to such members of our society, bringing up tolerance, humanity and compassion – are important message of the given act.
We sincerely thank Odessa National University of Law Academy and LLC “Turyst”, who contributed to the organization of this event, who helped us. We also would like to thank the youth of Odessa, who respond to such an action to spend their time with children with special needs. The most important thing for such children is to get help and not to be forgotten. Children have a gust of everything, that happens around them and then depict their feelings in the creative work. We help to develop our society and children with special needs, paying attention to them, giving them love and our time, we also bring up our strong and future generation.
Our idea and efforts in organization such events are focused on development, socialization, adaptation of children with special needs in our society. We want to remove barriers in communication and organization of leisure time between different members of our society, showing, that children with special needs have full creative, cultural and social communicative potential.
